David B. Farer is Co-Chair of the Environmental Department at Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis LLP, resident in the Roseland, NJ office. A nationally-renowned environmental lawyer, Mr. Farer previously chaired the Environmental & Brownfields practice group at Farer Fersko, where he established that firm’s environmental practice in 1984. Mr. Farer is a Past President of ACOEL. He currently co-chairs ACOEL’s International Pro Bono Committee, and recently facilitated the College’s first MOU with a Cuban environmental foundation. Mr. Farer focuses on the impact of environmental laws on transactions and real property in New Jersey and around the nation, and litigation arising from these issues. He has been on the cutting edge of developments in the environmental law sector since the 1980s, has written and lectured extensively. In 1987, Mr. Farer developed the American Law Institute-American Bar Association (now ALI CLE) national course of study, “The Impact of Environmental Law on Real Estate and Business Transactions,” a course he chaired for over twenty-five years, lecturing and contributing to the annual course materials. Mr. Farer has served as Special Master in environmental lawsuits in New Jersey. He is a qualified mediator under New Jersey court rules. He was selected by the United States District Court, District of New Jersey, to serve on the District’s Panel of Mediators, and has been appointed to a fourth consecutive term on the panel.
