Risk assessment provides the scientific and legal framework for evaluating potential harm to human health and the environment. It plays a central role in regulatory decision-making across environmental statutes and is an ever evolving science.

Because risk analysis influences standards, priorities, and enforcement and compliance outcomes, it remains a critical topic for the practice of environmental law.
