Illustrative Projects

The Environmental Clinic and Texas RioGrande Legal Aid filed a Title VI Civil Rights complaint with the Federal Highway Administration regarding the Texas Department of Transportation's proposal to build an an elevated highway through a low-income community of color that was adjacent to the Corpus Christi ship channel and area refineries. The complaint resulted in finding of discrimination and in a Resolution Agreement that included a relocation program for over 300 families.
