Wildlife and Natural Resource Protection

U.S. laws focused on wildlife protection, habitat conservation, and public lands management are anchored in statutes such as the Endangered Species Act, the Marine Mammal Protection Act, and the National Forest Management Act of 1976.

For environmental law practitioners, these and relevant state regulations provide the legal framework for balancing preservation with development and resource use. Existing frameworks, however, are far from settled law. ACOEL fellows provide expert opinions and analysis on topics as precise as small toads and as large as international treaties.
