ACOEL Oral History Project

The American College of Environmental Lawyers was founded in 2007 and originally included 23 members, all in private practice. Today the College has approximately 275 active members; members come from virtually every state in the country; and our members include not only those in private practice but also those working in government, in academia and for NGOs.

The goal of the ACOEL’s Oral History Project is to preserve the history of the College for current and future members. That is being done by recording interviews with many of those who led the College in its earliest years. Three interviews have already been completed. Others are being conducted and, when completed, will be posted for all members to view.
