Stacey is currently the Managing Attorney of Earthjustices California Regional Office, which includes offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Sacramento. Earthjustice is the largest public interest environmental law organization. Stacey leads a team of lawyers, policy advocates, research analysts and professional support staff who provide legal advocacy at the national, state, and local level. Prior to joining Earthjustice, Stacey spent over 10 years as a federal prosecutor focusing on environmental and white collar crimes, including criminal prosecutions of Fortune 500 companies such as Walmart, Benefit Cosmetics, PG&E, and Maersk as well as 5 years as a state prosecutor bringing criminal and civil enforcement actions against companies and individuals. She started her litigation career as an associate at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP and clerked for the Honorable Samuel Conti of the Northern District of California. For her work, she has been named California Lawyer Attorney of the Year, Top 100 lawyer in California, and received the U.S. Attorney Generals Distinguished Service Award. Stacey is also an adjunct professor at U.C. Hastings School of Law and a Fellow at the American College of Environmental Lawyers. She is a graduate of Brown University and the University of Virginia School of Law.
